Time for ‘post-mortem’ on China's response to Covid-19 will come later, but questions need answering – UK defense chief

UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace has said Beijing's handling of the early stages of the novel coronavirus spread must be scrutinized once the current crisis is under control. But China must be honest about its actions, he noted.

Wallace was asked by radio station LBC whether China has questions to answer over how quickly it notified the world about the extent of the Covid-19 outbreak. “I think it does,” he replied.

The time for the post-mortem on this is after we've all got it under control and have come through it and our economies are back to normal.

Wallace said that Beijing needs to be “open and transparent about what it learnt; its shortcomings, but also its successes.”
